What is Xanax?

Xanax is a tranquilizer (anxiolytic medication) with antidepressant, hypnotic, and anticonvulsant action. The principle active ingredient is the derivative of triazole-benzodiazepine. For the treatment of depressive conditions and other mental disorders, Xanax pills containing 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 2 mg or 3 mg of the active substance may be prescribed.
